NASA has discovered a planet made of diamonds that is 9 times larger than Earth
There are thousands of heavenly bodies in space. Some have been discovered, others are yet to be discovered. When space agencies tell us about unknown planets or stars, we are also surprised. Similarly, the American space agency NASA discovered a strange planet.
This planet can be said to be made of diamonds. This planet is about nine times more massive than Earth. This planet is 41 light years away from our solar system.
According to NASA, the exoplanet is known as 55 Cancri. If scientists mention that the planet is covered with molten lava. It is said that the planet is rich in diamonds.
The planet orbits its host star at 55 cancri, completing a complete orbit in 17 hours. This is near 4,400 degrees Fahrenheit, which brings intense surface temperatures that range up to about 2,400 degrees Celsius.
Planets made of diamonds:
55 Among its interesting aspects of cancri that has attracted much research attention is undoubtedly its expected diamond composition. Research suggests that at least a third of the planet's mass may be made up of diamonds. It is known that its surface may be covered in diamonds and graphite instead of water and rock on Earth.
Scientists have classified the planet as a super-Earth because it is larger than Earth but similar to Uranus and lighter than Neptune.
