The world's best science cities, according to the Nature Index journal!

On November 21, the journal Nature Index published a list of the world's 200 science-friendly cities. However, their science-friendly ranking or list was published using data from 2023.

In this list, out of a total of 200 cities, the highest number of 51 are from America and a total of 36 are from China. And among the top 20 science cities in the world, 10 are from China and 6 are from America.

In addition, in the list of the top 20 local science cities in the world, 1 is from the UK, 1 from Japan, 1 from South Korea and 1 from France. Here, the strong position of Chinese cities along with America was quite noticeable.

In the ranking of the Nature Index in 2023, the world's first local science city was Beijing, China. Along with it, Shanghai, China, is in second place, and New York City, America, is in third place. However, Moscow is the only city in Russia, the world's second largest military superpower, in 82nd place.

Moreover, the American city of Boston and the Chinese city of Nanjing have taken their places in the fourth and fifth places respectively. Meanwhile, in the ranking of the best science cities in the world, the city of Tokyo in Japan, a country in the Asia Pacific region, is in the 10th place, Seoul in South Korea is in the 12th place, and the city of Singapore, a prosperous and small city in East Asia, is in the 26th place.

According to the results of the Nature Index study, no city from any other country in South Asia except India has made it to the list of science cities. However, a total of 5 cities from India have made it to the list. In this ranking, the city of Kolkata in India is in the 84th place, Bangalore is in the 85th place, and Mumbai is in the 98th place.

The city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia is the only country in the Muslim world in the list of science cities, at 134th place. In addition, a total of 4 cities from the small country of Israel in the Middle East have made it to the list.  Among them, the city of Rivne in Israel is ranked 93rd, Tel Aviv is ranked 105th, Jerusalem is ranked 119th, and Haifa is ranked 151st.
