A mysterious region or factory of star formation in the galaxy is a nebula or nebula!
One of the most beautiful and mysterious places in our familiar Milky Way galaxy is Barnard 33 or the Horse-Head Nebula. Shaped like a horse's head, this dark nebula is located approximately 1,375 light-years from Earth in the constellation of Orion.
In November 2023, the high-tech 'Euclid' space telescope sent to space by the European Space Agency (ESA) captured 5 high-resolution colorful images and sent them to Earth. It was actually the most beautiful colorful image Euclid ever took.
The Horse-Head Nebula region may be about 7 to 10 light-years in diameter. However, the most easily observable nebula or nebula from Earth is the Helix Nebula. Which is a planetary nebula located in Aquarius about 210 light years from Earth. Its diameter may extend to a distance of about 2.87 light years.
Moreover, the largest nebula in our Milky Way Galaxy is the Tarantula Nebula. Which could be an incredible 1,800 light years in size or diameter. On the other hand, the smallest elliptical nebula is the MGC 7027 nebula. Its size most likely spans 0.1 to 0.2 light years.
Scientists believe that nebulae are formed from gas and dust ejected from supergiant stars by supernova explosions. The nebular region is considered a mysterious place or factory of new star formation.
Space scientists have closely researched and observed that there may be more than 20,000 nebulae or nebulae in the Milky Way galaxy alone. Of which scientists have been able to list about 3,500 nebulae or nebulae, small and large.
