We have to advance in science and technological development with our own innovative capabilities!

Besides, Abrar Shahid of Notre Dame College and Rafid Ahmed of Academia got bronze medals in this competition.  90 talented students from 25 countries of the world participated in this Eye Olympiad competition held in Riyadh.  The main objective of this artificial intelligence (AI) contest, which is important at the international level, is to establish friendly relations between technology and software experts and teachers and students from different countries around the world and to develop interest in research and positive use of (AI) technology among students.

In fact, in recent times, students of Bangladesh are getting very good results and reputation by participating in several international level educational competitions such as Mathematics Olympiad, Physics Olympiad, Robotics Olympiad or AI Olympiad.  Which is definitely the reputation and glory of Bangladesh is spreading all over the world.  And such achievements can play an important role in technological development and research in our country in the near future.

However, it is a disappointing fact that in the 21st century science and technology development, no effective precedent can be found for Bangladesh to keep pace with the developed world.  In fact, our country is not progressing in science and technology in accordance with the way certificates, medals and reputations are being achieved in the international arena.

In terms of science and technology development in our country, some high level educational institutions including Notre Dame College and St. Joseph College are sincerely trying to move forward in modern and technology-based education, but in reality, a very dirty and disappointing picture emerges in the field of new technology innovation, development and research in most of the educational institutions of the country.  .

The reality here is that we are still 100% dependent on countries like China, India and Japan for technology.  Even today, we have not achieved any ability to make a 200 Tk price calculator made in China with our own design and technology.  Which remains a major hindrance for rapid and effective industrialization and economic development in our country.

In fact, if the educational institutions of the country cannot move forward in new technology innovation, research and development, we will never be able to face the global challenges and reap the benefits of the fourth industrial revolution.  If any innovative idea or new innovation and technology created by the young generation of our country is not practical, the technology will only create a storm in social media or gain fame all over the world.  But in reality nothing will be achieved for the country.

That's why sometimes the news of indomitable youth of our country inventing new technologies is seen in news and social media, but in reality, due to lack of proper patronage and evaluation, no trace of it can be found after some time.  We have never really tried to evaluate the talented, talented and innovative youth and students of our country in that way.  In any case, we have to come out of this kind of depressing situation and mentality and evaluate the worthy and talented people of the country and if necessary, we have to invest sufficient amount of government or private money behind them.

So now is the time for us to move forward in science and technology development in a very planned manner and we have to formulate and implement a practical modern, science and technology based education system very quickly.  And we have to ensure that the new innovations, ideas and technologies acquired in the educational institutions of our country are made suitable for the common people by collaborating with industrial institutions.  Now there is no alternative.
