Global temperature is increasing at an alarming rate!

The US space research agency NASA has recently analyzed the temperature data of the Earth's atmosphere obtained from satellites and said that the current July 22, 2024 was the hottest day on Earth in the past few decades. According to their published report, the previous daily temperature record set in July 2023 has been surpassed by the temperature of 21, 22 and 23 July 2024.

Global temperature is increasing at an alarming rate!

NASA scientists have found that the long-term global warming trend has increased due to human error.  Scientists fear that the global average temperature is increasing mainly due to excessive emissions of harmful greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.  NASA released the alarming findings by analyzing global temperature data collected from more than two dozen 'Earth-observing' satellites and more than 60 years of data.

A report published by the European Union's climate change monitoring organization 'Copernicus Climate Change Service' on May 8, 2024 revealed that April 2024 was the hottest month in the history of world temperature records.  According to their data, the global average temperature last April was 1.58 degrees Celsius higher than the average temperature recorded since the pre-industrial era of 1850-1900.  The average temperature of the world till April 2024 was recorded at 1.6 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, according to the report titled The State of the Climate in Asia 2023 published by the United Nations, Asia was the most disaster-prone region in the world in 2023 due to climate change and global temperature increase.  The year 2023 saw the second highest annual average air temperature recorded in Asia.  Which is 0.91 degrees Celsius higher than the average temperature from 1991 to 2020 and 1.87 degrees Celsius higher than the average temperature from 1961 to 1990.

Due to the record increase in global temperature, natural disasters have been hitting various parts of the world continuously since last few years.  A report by the World Meteorological Organization shows that the average sea level has risen since 1900 due to the melting of the glaciers of the North and South Poles due to the increase in temperature, but it has not been seen in the last 3 thousand years.  And its negative impact is going to be the most in the highly populated countries of South and East Asia.  People's lives have already started to be disturbed due to the effect of heavy rains along with extreme temperatures in South Asian countries.

In the last few decades, the temperature of the ice-covered Antarctic continent is increasing at a very fast pace due to our well-known climate change.  Originally, the highest temperature recorded at Commandant Feraz Antarctic Station was 20.75 degrees Celsius on February 9, 2020.  Moreover, according to the information provided by the United Nations, the temperature of the South Pole was recorded at 17.5 degrees Celsius in 2017 at a research center in Argentina located on the Antarctic Peninsula.

On December 28, 1980, the highest temperature recorded on the Antarctic Plateau, 8,202 feet above sea level, was minus -7 degrees Celsius, and on July 21, 1983, the lowest temperature recorded in Central Antarctica was minus -89.2 degrees Celsius.  According to the data provided by the National Snow and Ice Data Center, a record amount of about 19.1 lakh square kilometers of ice in the continent of Antarctica has already melted directly into the ocean floor.

And in this way, if the trend of global climate change or temperature increase and greenhouse gas increase in the atmosphere continues, just because of the rise in the sea level, in the near future it may cause a terrible disaster for the people living in the lower part of the earth and other animals.  According to the research of the scientists, a large part of the low-lying area of the earth may sink forever into the sea bed by the next 2100 due to the rise of the sea level.

Meanwhile, environmental scientists published a new report recently by analyzing data from satellite images and data on the long-term temperature decrease of the Antarctic continent.  This new report shows that the current rate of ice melting in six large glaciers on the continent of Antarctica due to the increase in global average temperature cannot be stopped for now.  According to their predictions, if all the ice in these 6 glaciers melts, the sea surface may rise by about 1.2 meters.  The signs of which have started to appear now.
